
Today was about gold. Reworking my way around the icon, I re-gilding the holidays left on my first pass. As is usually the case in water-gilding, these repairs blended perfectly with the background. After lunch, I cut back the gold from where it had bled onto the gesso and now I am ready to paint.
This week I have also taken a holiday from work in the hope of finishing this icon in time for St. John’s Elora. I expect it to be some long days …
