In my experience, icons never seems to have any “life” until their subject’s faces begin to take form. Even with all the work already done in preparing this icon, it has changed everything to have the first layer of flesh-tones

With the completion of my intensive week I am finished the robes of all five figures within this icon. I wish I could have also worked a little on the faces, but that will have to be finished next week.
